Based in Geelong, we seek an enthusiastic and values-driven individual for an Company Accountant role for a 3-6 month contract role with the possibility of ongoing employment. We have an immediate start available and offer the opportunity for flexible work arrangements on either a full or part-time basis.

Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Company Accountant role or similar
- Accounting or related degree
- CPA or CA qualified or working towards (preferred).
- Effective team player
- Strong ability to collaborate with others.
- Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills, solutions-oriented.
- Sound business acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent MS Office skills, completely computer literate. Highly developed Excel skills. High-level Xero software skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, building, and construction preferred but not essential.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Persistent approach to time management
- High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and resourcefulness.
- High degree of accountability and very high attention to detail
Duties:
- Preparation of monthly financial reporting for all entities within the group, including Profit & Loss v Budget, Balance Sheet, cash flow projections, and internal cost centres
- Month-end close including P & L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly activity statements
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget for each entity within the group along with internal cost centres.
- Oversee accounts payable & receivable functions and team members.
- Reconcile costs within project management software to ensure accuracy.
- Accountable for preparations and submissions of Tender applications and requests for information
- Assist project team in forecasting job profitability along with cash flow projections.
- Constantly review and provide detailed analyses of financial information.
- Assist with improving business processes, systems, and performance along with building databases and managing cost information to maximize profitability for the company.
- Be highly efficient, systematic, and structured.
