An exciting opportunity exists for a Laboratory Technician to join our Queensland Fertility Group laboratory team based in Springwood, Queensland.
We are seeking a person with good laboratory skills, an eye for detail, superb organisational and time management skills and excellent communication skills. This part-time role offers an attractive wage based around your skills and training, great conditions, and comes with the backing of an Enterprise Agreement.

You will be working with a dedicated team of Scientists, Nurses and Doctors providing diagnostic and clinical treatment to assisted reproduction patients. Successful applicants will have:
- Australian residency, or possess existing Australian Work visa/approvals
- Year 12 or equivalent (essential) and a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory or biological science (desirable)
- Previous experience within a pathology/medical science laboratory desirable
- Highly developed data entry skills, attention to detail and an exceptional work ethic

- Customer focused with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, clinical and laboratory staff
- The ability to work independently and within a team
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety Guidelines
- Compliance with the requirements of the laboratory quality management system
- Undertaking routine laboratory maintenance
- Upkeep of laboratory equipment (quality control testing and servicing scheduling)
- Ordering, receipt, QC testing and storage of laboratory consumables
- Preparation of laboratory consumables for laboratory procedures
- Performing Specimen Reception duties (identification, sorting, preparation and redirection of specimens to the appropriate departments)
- Undertaking laboratory data management requirement by entry of data into Laboratory Management and Patient Management Systems
- Responding to enquiries from other departments, clinicians and patients
