MechTest provides Mechanical Testing, metallurgical testing, chemical analysis, weld and welder qualification, and failure investigation services to various engineering sectors.
MechTest requires a full-time Laboratory (Mechanical Testing) Technician to work from our Archerfield laboratory. If required, training will be provided.
Prerequisites:
- Year 12 high school certificate or similar.
- (A science or engineering degree will be highly regarded)
- Current manual driver’s license.
Duties:
Key responsibilities will include working in a workshop environment:
- Preparing test specimens by sectioning, cutting, machining, and grinding, using CNCs, machinery, power tools and hand tools etc.
- Mechanical testing activities.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workshop.
- Forklift License is an advantage but not essential.
- Basic welding experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Training will be provided, no previous experience necessary.

You will be working alongside our experienced team of technicians and engineers gaining valuable experience in the workshop and Mechanical Testing laboratory. Training will be provided. Ideally you will have a willingness to learn, and to work autonomously.
