The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable analytical results from the central laboratory as a service to business stakeholders and customers. This role reports to the Laboratory Supervisor. Tasks you will be doing but not limited to are;
- Preparation and wet chemistry analyses of raw material and finished product malt samples
- Ensuring preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with Boortmalt Standard Methods
- Participation in laboratory proficiency testing schemes
- Calibration and maintenance of analytical instrumentation and their accessories
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour and undertaking subsequent investigations
- Management of reporting, record keeping and investigations of non-conformances
- Ensuring compliance with Boortmalt Good Laboratory Practices.
- Ensuring compliance with Boortmalt EHS requirements and required training
With relevant experience working in a Lab, we would also like for you to bring;
- Degree, preferable higher degree in agriculture, food science, chemistry or related discipline.
- Analytical and detailed
- Ability to quickly respond to and resolve issues
- Ability to connect with people in various levels of the organisation
- Good time management skills
- High level of computer literacy
- High adaptability and capacity for change
- Comfortable communicating and operating in a team environment.
