Laboratory Technician Team Leader

WesTrac is currently seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician Team Leader to join the team at our Lab, the position will report to the Laboratory Supervisor.

The Laboratory Technician Team Leader will be accountable for conducting appropriate testing and analysis of fluid samples (e.g. oil, coolant, fuel and grease) in line with WesTrac's Laboratory Manuals, safety policies and procedures to ensure uploading subsequent results and checking for accuracy prior to release for interpretation and analysis to ensure an increase in the lifetime of customer assets.

Additionally, the role is responsible for providing a broad range of advice, guidance and assistance to the Laboratory Technicians and acts as main point of contact for all testing equipment issues and associated maintenance requirements.

The Laboratory Technician Team Leader's direct reports consist of the Laboratory Technicians and will provide coaching, training and distribution of tasks to these team members. Coordinating the regular maintenance of laboratory equipment and creation of staff rosters and resource allocation will also be required.

This position will be offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

Location: South Guildford, WA

Roster: 5/2 8hrs with alternating morning & afternoon shifts

To be successful the following is required:

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques
• Previous experience in a Laboratory type role
• Previous experience leading a team
• High level of attention to detail and Analytical skills
• Strong computer literacy skills - MS Office
• Sound communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
• Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
