We are seeking construction labourers for our client - a local Government council in Cleveland, QLD. As a labourer, you will deliver a range of highly skilled maintenance or construction activities, operate and maintain various plant, tools, and equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Full time, Mon-Fri 38 hrs per week.
Location : Cleveland, QLD
Pay rate: $32.26 per hour plus super
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver a range of highly skilled and specialist maintenance or construction activities including the use and maintenance of other plant, tools and equipment as required under general supervision.
- Correctly operate and maintain a broad range of plant, tools and equipment as required.
- Actively participate in and promote a cooperative team based approach within the City Water Group to create a safe, fulfilling, equitable, harmonious and productive workplace.
- Follow Council Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection requirements and to proactively identify and report any potential or actual safety hazards/issues within the work environment.
- Communicate with both internal & external customers in a friendly, cooperative and responsive manner to achieve positive outcomes for the unit and Council as a whole.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability and physical fitness to perform a range of strenuous labouring tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Demonstrated practical experience in a broad range of water supply and sewerage reticulation, construction and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated ability to correctly operate a range of plant, tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively participate as part of a team.
- A good understanding and demonstrated commitment to OH&S and Environmental Management.
- Demonstrated ability to deal courteously and competently with internal and external customers.
