The Construction & Maintenance Central (CMC) Team undertake capital and operational works to maintain and improve safety, serviceability and efficiency of the region’s road network and integrated transport system.

About your teammates:
The Multiskilled Construction teams include:
- Road Construction team carries out a broad range of civil construction activities with projects such as road construction, bridge construction, intersection upgrades, installation of culverts, footpaths, kerb and channel.
- Pipe Construction team are responsible for the installation and upgrade of water mains. Part of the team are currently working on replacing the Perseverance Raw Water Main.
- Linemarking team paint roads with centre lines, parking bays, pedestrian crossings, bus lanes and bicycle lanes. The crew work from 3.00am to 12pm Monday to Friday.
- Sign team is responsible for the installation and maintenance of road signs. The hours of work are from 6.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.
- Drainage team install and repair stormwater infrastructure throughout the city. The hours of work are from 6.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
- Sealed team repair potholes, ruts, cracks and edge breaks in the sealed pavement. The hours of work are from 6.30am to 3.30pm.
- Concrete team build and repair pram ramps, footpaths and kerbs. The hours of work are from 6.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday
- CBD Street team is responsible for keeping the central business district in pristine condition. The hours of work are from 3.30am to 12pm Monday to Friday and every second weekend 3am to 7am.
- All positions are permanent full-time positions based at the Charlton Depot.
- The base salary for these positions is $1,088.81 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available.
- These positions participate in Rostered Days Off.

Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the position:
Mandatory
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Year 10 education.
- Experience, qualification and competence in a civil construction and maintenance environment.
- Current ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Traffic Control ticket.
- Traffic Management Implementation (MUTCD).
- Confined Space Entry Procedure – Industry.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Working at Heights.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Quickcut
