Landscape Architect3-month contractPaying up to $52 per hourSouth Eastern SuburbsHybrid working I'm excited to be working with a great local council who're in the market for a Landscape Architect and will play a pivotal role in managing multiple projects such as local district parks, basketball courts and playgrounds.
They're looking for someone with experience in documenting projects and developing concepts for open space projects. Key Responsibilities: Create landscape design drawings from initial concepts to detailed plans, including master plans, estimates, and specifications. Prepare contract documentation for open space and public projects that align with the Council's policies.
Develop or support public realm designs that advocate for improvements and can be implemented or documented by project managers or consultants. Manage the hiring of consultants, prepare project briefs, and coordinate project schedules for open space design. Plan and oversee the implementation of open space projects funded by external agencies.
Regularly update the Coordinator of Open Space Planning & Sustainability on project progress, milestones, budget, and sensitive matters. Administer nominated works contracts, monitor contractor compliance and performance, and ensure work meets OH&S policies.
Ensure all functions comply with relevant laws and Council policies. Community/Stakeholder Engagement Engage and consult with the community and stakeholders on open space projects. Provide expert advice and recommendations on Landscape Architecture and urban design to Council departments, Councillors, government authorities, contractors, developers, consultants, and the community.
Advise on planning referrals, development, and review of the Local Planning Policy Framework and open space design guidelines. What you'll need to succeed: Hold a degree in a relevant area such as, architecture, construction management, or construction engineering, or possess equivalent demonstrated work experience. Demonstrate in-depth experience designing projects across all stages of the construction cycle, preferably including both new builds and refurbishments.
Experience working with Revit is desirable. Exhibit well-developed stakeholder management skills. Local government experience is desirable.
