We are looking for a Landscape Field Officer to help our Ecologists and Biosecurity Officers when they go on field trips.Ecologists work on managing and monitoring native plants and animals.Biosecurity Officers control pests like feral goats, rabbits, cactus, weeds and feral pigs.The Landscape Field Officer will work in lots of unique locations like Malkumba - Coongie Lakes, Flinders Ranges and Mound Springs and will help with tasks like animal trapping and surveys, putting out and collecting monitoring cameras and looking at the camera data, ground support for teams during aerial programs, buying food and supplies for field trips, and making sure the vehicles and workshop are safe and clean.We are looking for someone who is:Living and working in the SA Arid Lands region, or has a good knowledge of the area.Has a cultural connection to the regionIs willing to travel and camp in the region regularlyHas a drivers licence and can drive a 4WDHas an interest or a background working in the environment sectorAre you interested?Please provide your contact details and tell us about your experience in the areas below and why you would like the jobExperience/understanding in logistics planning for remote area trips and driving in remote areas safelyAbility to manage and prioritise work to meet time framesExperience working well with team members and organisationsAbility to identify and define problems, and use common sense and past experience to provide solutions and options for resolving issuesFlexible and adaptable in learning new skills, practices and changing prioritiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingThe successful applicant will have a contract for up to 2 years and will be paid between $66,590 and $70,968 per year if they work full time (37.5 hours per week)More information can be found on iworkfor.sa.gov.au or by calling Elisa Sparrow on 0427 584 424 or Reshnee Lalla on 0407 976 532
