The Northern & Yorke Region extends across 36,000 square kilometres of land and includes 1,350 kilometres of coastline. Our population is over 100,000 within the main centres of Port Pirie, Clare, Gawler, the Yorke Peninsula and the Barossa Valley.
Our landscapes include broad acre crop production, rolling hills and rangelands mainly used for cattle and sheep grazing. Our valleys and water resources are perfect for an expanding grape growing and wine production industry. The Region also has significant areas of undisturbed bushland, native grasslands, mangrove forests, pristine beaches, seagrass beds and reefs and wetlands.
We respectfully live, work and play on the traditional lands of the Narungga, Peramangk, Ngadjuri, Nukunu and Kaurna First Nations and enjoy positive and proactive relationships with these communities.
