The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a diligent law student currently undertaking their studies to join our Commercial Law department (transactional and advisory services).
The role is based in our head office in Campbelltown where you would be working in a team with two (2) Accredited Specialists in Business Law and numerous other experienced senior and junior solicitors and clerks in a welcoming and collaborative environment.
The Department is responsible for undertaking high level transactional and advisory work for well established and successful corporate and government entities.
We are looking for an applicant who has a keen interest in this area of law with opportunities for progression, within our growing practice.
Skills and experience we would love
We expect that the successful applicant would:
- be able to work a minimum of 3 - 4 days a week. We do provide flexibility for assessment and exam periods;
- have a commercial and practical approach to work;
- be robust and resilient problem solver;
- have attention to detail;
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long-lasting relationships;
- be able to work in a team environment;
- have effective time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and tight deadlines; and
- have solid academic results.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- legal research and drafting advices and documents in all aspects of our commercial transaction areas, including (but not limited to) mergers, acquisitions, corporate financing, manufacturing and distribution, consumer protection and franchising, asset protection, intellectual property, corporations law and dealing with charitable organisations; and
- taking ownership of client matters under the mentorship of the relevant solicitor or partner.
