About the role
A great opportunity exists for Law Graduate to work under close supervision of General Counsel -Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection, as well as the Assistant general Counsel. As a Law Graduate, you will get the chance to work on legal research and assisting in the preparation of court and tribunal documents. This role also provides administrative and legal research support to lawyers conducting civil and criminal proceedings. The Law Graduate would learn the legislation administered by the department with focus on the Industry Regulations and Consumer protection.

Within the Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection Group, the Legal Services Directorate is responsible for providing legal advice to the Department that is accurate, timely and solution focussed. The Legal Services Directorate is also responsible for the conduct of litigation, including prosecution of offences and disciplinary proceedings under legislation administered by the Department

A detailed resume outlining your work history, education and professional development and covering letter of no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following points:
- An academic qualification in the law approved under the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2009 so as to be eligible to progress towards admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
- Ability to quickly acquire a working knowledge of legislation relevant to the Department and the rules of the courts and the State Administrative Tribunal and able to identify potential legal issues in any given factual scenario.
- Ability to prepare routine legal documents and assist lawyers with their preparation for litigation matters.
