AddressOur client, an oil and gas multinational seek a Lawyer / In-house Counsel to advise on commercial, contractual and joint venture (JV) matters. This includes representing our client’s interests in JV meetings, litigation, and negotiations.
You report to the GM Strategy and Commercial and an external Senior Legal Counsel. You have a broad scope and exposure to operations of large, complex oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal advice and analysis
- Oversight Joint Venture (JV) projects to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Providing legal opinions and counsel and serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board.
- Develop, implement and maintain systems and processes for the documentation and tracking of legal matters, including, for example, filings and registrations, legal threats and litigation, business agreements, and all contracts.
- Responsible for instructing all external legal advisors and external counsel as necessary and appropriate, and maintaining overview of all externally instructed advice, ensuring quality of work of external legal advisors.
- Advising the business in relation to general contractual issues and participating in negotiations.
- Company secretarial duties and ASIC compliance.
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications.
- Admitted or immediately entitled to be admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
- Experience in a similar role, ideally with resources / oil and gas industry experience.
- You have disputes, litigation, trial and arbitration experience.
- Demonstrated self-starter.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
