Overview of Role
We are seeking an in-house counsel to join our team. This is an office-based role, so you will be required to attend the office, which is located in Brisbane City, Queensland. As in-house counsel you will ensure that the company meets its corporate risk, legal and regulatory obligations across Australia and other pursued jurisdictions, as well as provide commercial, practical, and strategic advice to key stakeholders of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting range of commercial contracts, including suppliers’ agreements, shareholder agreements, transfer of shares documents, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, and employment and contractor agreements.
- Provide practical and legal advice in relation to regulatory and financial licence requirements, as well as support the required compliance initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and clearly articulate and apply to the organisation’s requirements.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders.
- Providing support on strategic initiatives and other investment projects as required by the organisation.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years post-qualification experience in corporate/ commercial work attained from a reputable law firm or similar in-house role.
- Experience in technology, privacy and/ or data protection will be highly considered.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong drafting and technical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation, as well as build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Fluency in mandarin desirable.
