About the role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced junior or mid-level lawyer to join our market leading General Insurance practice in Melbourne.
This role will predominantly involve handling the defence of public liability (personal injury) claims.
The General Insurance team advises on and manages a diverse portfolio of claims for many Australian and international insurers and underwriters (including Lloyds of London syndicates), Government departments and public sector entities and self-insured corporations. Our team routinely handles claims that are complex, technically challenging and high profile. Our team in Melbourne has approximately 40 people and is part of our national General Insurance practice - a collaborative, collegiate, high-performing and fun team.
Skills and experience
We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
between 2 - 4 years of post-admission experience in defendant insurance law;
experience dealing with personal injury claims;
strong technical ability and attention to detail; and
strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
