Lead Azure Engineer

Our client, a government agency is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer with technical leadership experience to run the design, development and delivery of cloud based infrastructure. A very exciting role which can bridge into architecture and people leadership if desired.
Role Description:
Our client is growing and looking for an experienced Lead Azure Engineer. The Azure Engineer is the primary technical lead role for the design, development and delivery of cloud-based infrastructure within our client. This is a role which sits in a ever changing environment so is best suited to more of a Azure generalist and someone who can work in at times, unstructured environments.

• You will be a champion of Agile processes and lead the adoption of industry standard best practice use of Agile principles, practices and frameworks for the project and Digital Infrastructure teams.
• You will design and implement DevOps processes for infrastructure management using Infrastructure as code with Azure DevOps and Terraform.
• Being at the senior level, you will run technical leadership to the infrastructure team SMEs in BAU management and maintenance of the Azure Virtual Datacentre.
• You will work with internal and external stakeholders and various business and digital teams and build solid long-lasting relationships.

Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a highly motivated person who thrives on being challenged and can learn and adapt. Ideally you will have experience within Victorian State Government and have demonstrated experience in complex technical environments.

• You will have experience across Azure architecture design, networking, automation, and security.
• Proven experience introducing and maintaining DevOps culture and Agile practices and principles in a maturing environment.
• Strong knowledge around Azure services with detailed understanding and experience with Azure Kubernetes Services.
• You will have a good understanding and experience in containerisation and Microservices.
• Extensive experience in CI/CD infrastructure management with Azure DevOps and Terraform.
• Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Experience in design and maintenance of Azure virtual Datacentres
• You will be able to demonstrate your experience with SQL and SQL Server.
