About the Role:
Our client is an EPCI company primarily service the energy industry. They provide services for offshore oil and gas projects, as well as for the renewable energy sector. Our client specializes in designing and building complex facilities such as offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, LNG terminals, and onshore refineries. They offer a range of solutions from conceptual design to project management and execution, ensuring the successful completion of energy infrastructure projects worldwide.
As their projects continue to evolve, a position has arisen for a Lead Construction SMP Engineer to join the Projects Team in Geelong, VIC.
Title: Lead Construction SMP Engineer
Start Date: Negotiable
Employment Type: 1-year casual contract
Location: Geelong, VIC
Working Schedule: Monday – Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Construction Manager in the execution of the project’s Construction Management services
- As SMP construction package lead, run weekly construction progress meetings with SMP subcontractor
- Studying the preferred methods of installation, structural erection and establishing erection/assembly sequence
- Ensure erection and installation is complete and to project drawings and specifications
- Resolution of technical issues raised by installation crews for the SMP subcontract and coordination with Home Office as required
- Material review and installation coordination with subcontractors
- Coordination of works between subcontractors and supporting the construction supervisors
- Interface management between Brownfields and Refinery Operations.
- Maintain high standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with Code of Business Conduct
- Completion coordination including the close out of punch list items and tracing ready for commissioning activities
- Working with Client’s Construction Management Team as part of Overall Site Integrated CMT
- Overseeing redlining of drawings (as-builts) by subcontractors.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture
REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Piping Degree)
- Experience of working on Construction projects in the Oil & Gas and related industries in a Technical Services (field engineering) role; preferably in Australia
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations
- Proficient computer skills - MS Office Suite
- Experience in use of engineering design software for navigating through Engineering and Design documentation
