About the role
The Senior PV Engineer's work reduces costs, ensures compliance, and drives innovation, making renewable energy accessible and competitive in a rapidly changing energy landscape. By cutting carbon emissions and fostering a greener future, this role plays a vital part in addressing environmental challenges and shaping a more sustainable world.
As a Senior PV Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, crafting tailored and cost-efficient renewable energy systems for Commercial and Industrial Customers. You'll be the technical expert for the Customer Engineering, Construction and Maintenance team by efficiently designing customised and cost-effective commercial renewable systems from conceptual design to firm costing for the offered system. We are looking for an experienced PV Engineer with a strong understanding of AS Standards, CEC compliance and Regulatory requirements relevant to commercial Solar & Battery.

Innovate commercial-grade solar + battery system designs, optimizing costs and performance for tailored energy solutions.
Collaborate with the Solar Business Development team, contributing technically and commercially to enhance client offers.
Spearhead PV and energy solutions tender processes, ensuring meticulous solar concept and detailed design, tender documentation, and budget development for C&I projects.
Identify essential works/modifications for seamless PV system installations, enhancing project efficiency.
Conduct site surveys, providing crucial input for developing accurate costings and installation methodologies.
Drive detailed scope of works, RFQs & Specifications, including comprehensive bill of materials, ultimately influencing final project costs and success.
What will you bring?
- Experience in a similar PV Engineering role designing commercial solar systems of 100kw and above
- Solid experience in working with Australian wiring and switchboard standards
- You'll be proficient with cost estimation with proven ability to accurately cost up total system costs from design to offer
- Advanced experience with PVSyst, Helioscope and other solar design tools to create system models
- Knowledge of dealing with Distributed Network Service Providers (DNSPs)
- Experience in using AutoCad to create 2D drawings and using MS-project for creating project timeframes is desirable
