Lead Data Engineer - Greenfield Azure/Databricks - Energy Business.

Alloc8 - The Data Talent Specialists - have been retained by this amazing business to help identify and introduce their next Data Engineering lead.
The company in question are a respected one who have a history of applying data science and modelling techniques to drive decision making around best practice energy use, distribution and management.
As they continue to grow and add value they now have a need to create a flexible, business driven Data Engineering environment in the cloud.

With this, they need a Lead Data Engineer to help create, deploy and manage an Azure / Databricks platform.
In order to be considered for this role we're looking for the following attributes:

• At least 10 years experience working in large, complex Data Warehouse, Engineering, Data Lakehouse environments.
• Proven experience building and deploying cloud based Data Warehouse and Lakehouse platforms in the Azure cloud stack.
• Proven experience deploying and developing data platforms using Databricks.
• Amazing broader SQL skills with both traditional and modern Data Engineering, ETL and Modelling skills.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles in the Azure data stack.
• Amazing communication skills with the ability to engage well with the business whilst mentoring and managing more junior data people.
• Good commercial acumen with a deep appreciation of the commercial impact of your work, the value a modem Data platform brings to the business and the ability to explain this to a non technical audience.
