About Your New Role
The Lead Data Engineer will play an important role within this highly capable and friendly technology team, this cross-functional position has been created to drive a transformation of the data function at a group level using the latest tools and technologies that will enhance the organisations data capabilities.
Some of the key tasks aligned to this role will include:

• Develop the strategic roadmap for the data function with an understanding of the business requirements.
• Project manage the creation of new databases, data warehouse, moving to a data lake model and introduction of a new BI tool (PowerBI or Amazon Quick sights) among other projects.
• Design and implement data storage solutions using AWS platforms (Amazon RDS, Redshift, S3).
• Continuous improvement to optimise data systems to ensure performance and scalability.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for data extraction, transforming & loading data (ETL / ELT processing)
• Oversee data governance and best practice processes to ensure good data hygiene.

About You!

• Will have prior experience working as a Data Engineer.
• You are skilled at working with AWS, AWS Glue, AWS Data pipeline, Amazon RDS, Redshift and Amazon S3.
• Can program using Python & Java.
• Bring experience with Data modelling, analysis and profiling.
• Are knowledgeable with CI/CD principles & DevOps strategies.
• Can bring your expertise in Data engineering, BI/ Software development (ETL / ELT), Extraction & manipulation in Data Lake / Data Warehouse environment.
• Are experienced at operating within an Agile environment.

Interpersonally, you are a good communicator who can provide technical leadership to your stakeholders. You are passionate about all things Data and proactively look for modern trends and emerging technologies to continually improve your function.
