Job description

Join our Software Delivery Platform Enablement team at Macquarie and play a key role in enhancing our engineering experience. We are building a modern software delivery platform to ensure faster and more reliable software delivery. As a digital bank, software engineering is at the core of what we do. Our engineers operate in an autonomous environment where they are empowered to “do it right” and continuously learn, becoming masters in their craft.

At Macquarie, we are working to create lasting value for our communities, our clients and our people. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 54 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drive outcomes.

What role will you play?

As an exceptional principal engineer, you will help us tackle some of the most challenging problems in the bank. Drawing from your deep and broad technical expertise, you will be hands-on in the code to help solve technical problems. Collaborating with engineering leaders from other teams or platforms, you will resolve issues impacting your team's delivery and ensure high standards for code quality, testing, and security.

You will own the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the team-owned product and platforms. Working closely with product managers, you will ensure the team understands the problems they're trying to solve. You will also be accountable for the reliability and uptime of the applications your team owns.

Furthermore, you will participate in incident management and team roster activities, showing ownership when problems arise in your space. You will run post-mortems and ensure any actions are completed to improve the applications over time.

What you offer

  • Strong technical background in building CI/CD Pipelines
  • Profound understanding of CI/CD strategies including Canary, Blue/Green deployments, and SLSA framework
  • Demonstrated experience integrating pipelines with security tooling
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and run complex engineering initiatives
  • Product company experience with an understanding of how to build great products in an Agile environment
  • Computer science education or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organisation.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.

Benefits

Macquarie employees can access a wide range of benefits which, depending on eligibility criteria and location, include:

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Wellbeing and service bonus leave
  • Up to 20 weeks paid parental leave as well as benefits to support you as you transition to life as a working parent
  • Paid volunteer leave and donation matching
  • Range of benefits to support your physical, psychological and financial wellbeing

About the Corporate Operations Group

Join a collaborative team who accelerate digitalisation, sustainability and social impact for the benefit of our people, customers, shareholders and communities. Our teams include technology, digital transformation and data, operations, human resources, business services, corporate strategy and solutions and the Macquarie Group Foundation.
