The Role
Reporting to the Head of Projects, and leading the small estimating team, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the pre-sales effort of our largest opportunities, working in conjunction with our Inside Sales and BDM’s. This will involve:
- Ensuring that scoping and requirements gathering are completed in line with best practice.
- Coordinating design and drawings with the design team.
- Developing project plans with the project team; and
- Coordinating Proposals and Tender responses.
You will be supported by working closely with our Design, Projects, Operations and Commercial teams.
You ideally will have pre-sales, project management and tender writing response experience within the building products, engineering, or a related Industry. The role is a permanent full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the pre-sales process in conjunction with the sales team
- Managing the Tender / Bid process
- Reviewing Tender / Bid documents including project plans, specifications, and scope of work
- Collaborating with the Sales Teams and Clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Completing all required Tender / Bid documentation.
- Conducting take-offs and cost breakdowns, and preparing detailed estimates based on project scopes.
- Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and maintain strong relationships.
- Liaising with the Design and Engineering Teams to generate concept design drawings.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of standards and specifications.
- Producing contract documentation as required.
- Resolving issues and queries in the enquiry stage with sales consultants.
- Collaborating with Project Managers regarding cost variances and implementing improvements from completed project learnings.
- Coaching and leading the estimating team.
- Reviewing and implementing procedural and policy improvements within the department.
- Implementing new and innovative systems and pricing tools to improve accuracy, and response timeframes.
Skills / Experience / Qualifications
The following skills and experience will be considered favourably:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the construction/mining/Industrial/engineering/ manufacturing sectors.
- High level pre-sales, tender response, and project management ability/experience.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to various senior level stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
