Key Responsibilities
- Spearheading the design and development phases of the product, ensuring strict adherence to prevailing safety standards and meeting designated timelines.
- Supervising and nurturing a team of specialized engineers, fostering their growth and skill enhancement.
- Upholding mechanical configuration control, encompassing the formulation and enforcement of configuration control protocols.
- Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams to facilitate the smooth integration of mechanical components within overarching systems.
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to proactively identify potential challenges and devise viable solutions.
- Ensuring full compliance of all designs with pertinent engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining meticulous records documenting all design decisions taken throughout the process.
- Identifying and rectifying potential design flaws, proposing enhancements to optimize the overall design.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or similar with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Lead Mechanical Design Engineering role, preferably within the material handling / mining industry.
- Expert proficiency in MicroStation software, Creo software design and CAD software (Inventor-desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.
