Lead Networks Ops Engineer

What will you be doing?

The Lead Engineer will work as part of the Area operations team which consists of approximately 10 Operations Engineers.

The vacancies are supporting the Southern team based out of Daceyville depot, and Western team based out Prestons depot

What are we looking for

• Knowledge of network operations, system hydraulics, maintenance/renewals, system planning, asset management, or treatment/quality aspects of water and wastewater systems
• Highly developed problem solving, lateral thinking, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Highly developed skills and experience in dealing with customer, stakeholder and regulator issues
• Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in operating assets and/or systems for the delivery of water and wastewater products and services that meet customer and stakeholder expectations
• Experience in the measurement, analysis and evaluation of water and wastewater system performance
• Demonstrated success in working with internal and external service delivery partners to achieve common goals in planning, design, construction, commissioning, maintenance and asset management activities
• Ensuring safety in design, network operation, and shutdown activities conducted by internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated self-motivation and willingness to accept challenges and deliver assigned projects as part of a team or as an individual
• Knowledge of the appropriate Regulatory requirements (including Operating Licence, Environmental Protection Licence and Water Quality)
• A solid understanding of the application of computerised systems for operations, maintenance and process management systems
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems relevant to water and wastewater systems
• Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written) and personal qualities (innovative, motivational, self-confident and tactful) including ability to translate technical outcomes to operational needs, and present as necessary, with the ability to negotiate outcomes that compliment operational needs
• Current driver’s license with the ability to travel across the Sydney Water network of operations
• Available to work outside normal working hours, either from home, office or in the field as required.
