We are a small service dedicated to providing high quality support to children expanding to develop a multidisciplinary team to better meet the needs of children and families offering a range of Allied Health support. Operating in the SE suburbs/Frankston/Mornington Peninsula region partially depending on your locality, your case load will be a mix of family home, educational settings with the possibility of clinical sessions. You must love your work and be self-motivated to support and empower families with a child with a disability, neurodiversity, or delay with kindness and compassion. If you were here last week you would have:
- Provided a fellow Speech Pathologist with supervision.
- Shown leadership in facilitating a team meeting.
- Worked on our strategy to help grow the team and promote a supportive workplace.
- Undertaken assessments and finalized reports for children with speech, sensory or feeding concerns, according to your specialty.
- Attended a professional development workshop or supervision in your preferred area of interest.
- Made a difference in the life of a child and their family as they aspire to thrive.
Qualities of an ideal candidate:
- Qualification of either Bachelor Degree or Master of Speech Pathology.
- Practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia and a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
- Experience in building and fostering a team.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members with a range of qualifications and previous experience.
- Empathy and ability to connect with children and their families.
- Good communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to provide assessments for young children using appropriate investigation processes and reports as necessary in a timely manner.
- WWCC, First Aid Certificate.
Additional qualities:
- Firsthand lived experience of disability, neurodiversity or complex needs in self, family or through friendships is an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience working with young children and their families as they work towards NDIS Goals using strength-based and family-centred practice.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with families respecting individual styles, cultural backgrounds and acknowledging their strengths and capabilities.
- Ability to provide high quality support to families to enable them to identify their priorities, make informed decisions and establish family centred goals
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, learning from and using your expertise to support other team members.
