Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a Brisbane-based Lead Structural Engineer. They would play a critical role in overseeing the structural design aspects of HV Substation & Transmission projects, including the design process, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Playing a key design management role in the opportunity pursuits, design and delivery phases of HV Substation & Transmission projects
- Providing specialist technical input including structural design oversight, project planning and coordination to a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects
- Conducting design reviews and checks to identify and rectify any potential issues, ensuring high-quality design deliverables
- Communicating effectively with clients to present design concepts, progress, and recommendations, addressing any concerns and fostering a positive client relationship
- Providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
What you will bring to the team:
- Degree qualification in Structural Engineering with strong understanding of power industry design principles for substation, transmission line and renewable projects
- 15+ years' experience (RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent), in delivery of Substation & Transmission projects to applicable ANZ Standards and Guidelines (consulting industry preferred)
- Proficiency in using specialist design and analysis tools on structure and foundation design e.g. PLS-CADD, MicroStation, AUTOCAD, 12D etc.
- Experience in design management involving multi-disciplinary teams with strong communication and client relationship management skills
- The ability to mentor, motivate and guide team members.
