The Position:
Our growing company is looking for a Project Administrator and must be professional and experienced to join our team based in our Hobart office.
The position requires extreme attention to detail and would suit someone with broad experience in construction and Project Administration. Holmit is a Residential / Commercial construction company that values hard work and loyalty, and we strive for excellence in not only how we manage our projects but how we manage our staff.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work along side our Managing Director to provide Administrative support. The projects will be challenging and diverse.
About the role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detailed – oriented individual to join our team as an Administrator. You will work closely in supporting the Managing Director with documentation, cost planning and scheduling for the delivery of key development and construction projects. This is an office based position in Hobart.
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
- Minimum 2 – 3 years project administration experience working on medium / large size projects within construction.
- Relevant qualification in business – related administration desirable. *
- Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
- Experience with project management systems.
- Intermediate / Advanced level in MS Office suite of products
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work within a team, support and report to our Managing Director, build relationships with exceptional customer service skills.
- Keep detailed records in line with administrative needs
- Continuously seek improvements and cost – effective solutions for project success
About you:
- Exceptional Computer Skills, Knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel, power point, Experience with Procore will be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided
- The ability to work to deadlines and take ownership of projects
- High level of interpersonal skills including good phone manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Administrative and organisational skills with focus on attention to detail
- Experience in reading plans
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Experience with gant charts an advantage but not essential
Essential Requirements
- Experience in the Construction Industry - Essential
- Exceptional time management skills
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety
- Able to initiate discretion and problem solving capacity within scope of designated authority
- Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Strong communicator, able to articulate the organisations values, capabilities, capacities and history and, our offer (quantity and qualitative)
- Uphold impeccable accuracy and quality standards
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all levels
- Effective cost control techniques, excellent planning, organization and time management abilities
- Adaptability to handle project demands and work well under pressure
- Conflict resolution abilities and confidence in dealing with multiple people, including tradespeople, customers, stakeholders and supervisors
- Receive, record, and compile project documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness, including equipment manuals, technical reports, correspondences and drawings
- Coordinating regular meetings and being point of contact for enquiries, providing accurate support and advice, via telephone and written advice
- Ability to work across building sites, and head – office, but is expected that most of the time will be in our head office, Hobart
The successful candidate must take pride in their work, and must be willing to take advice and direction and be prepared to provide valuable input and support.
