Located at Kilburn, Adelaide, Glass Outlet is recognized Australia wide as a leader in the wholesale supply of glass, aluminum fencing, balustrading, aluminum screening, shower screens and accessories. Other distribution depots are located in QLD, NSW, VIC and WA.
Your role: Leading Hand
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this role is focused on leading a group of approx 8 team members for trade customer pick-ups, picking & packing of orders for outgoing despatch via courier or delivery vehicles and oversight of incoming goods.
Duties will include:
• Ensuring consistent productivity and efficiency of the team while achieving a high level of picking accuracy
• Ensuring trade customers are served in a timely manner and to high customer service levels
• Ensuring outgoing goods are despatched in a timely & accurate manner
• Co-coordinating the receiving and putting away of incoming stock
• Ensuring warehouse and yard maintained in a clean manner
• Assisting the warehouse manager in developing a culture of continuous improvement and team building
• Complying with company policy and procedures
• Picking and packing of orders
• General warehouse duties as workflow requires
• Unloading of containers
To be successful in the role, you should possess the following skills:
• Experience in a Leading Hand role with sound knowledge of the workings of a distribution business
• Excellent communication skills having regard to warehouse/office staff, customers and management
• Shown ability to lead and motivate a team
• Strong time management skills to enable execution of tasks for yourself and others
• Basic computer skills i.e., email, excel, word, etc
• Possess a current forklift license
• Current HR/MR license viewed favourably but not essential
