Job Description:We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Leading Hand to join our Award Winning team. We are an award-winning residential construction company located in the scenic Blue Mountains region, dedicated to delivering high-quality custom-designed homes and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of apprentices, ensuring they receive proper training and guidance in all aspects of residential construction.
- Coordinate and oversee daily construction activities, including framing, roofing, cladding, and finishing work.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure projects are completed within specific time frames and according to client expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all WHS, OHS regulations and company policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of carpentry skills, including but not limited to framing, trim work, joinery, and installation of fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process.
- Mentor apprentices in best practices, techniques, and industry standards, fostering their growth and development within the trade.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Desired but not limited to having experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively train, mentor, and supervise apprentices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
