A rewarding opportunity currently exists for aLeading Hand - Electrical and Instrumentationto join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team. The purpose of this role is to effectively maintain electrical/instrumentation equipment across all assets of the Century Mine and repair electrical/Instrumentation breakdowns associated with site equipment and electrical infrastructure to achieve safe production targets.
This position will be offered as a 15/13-day shift working roster (FIFO), located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill).
Key accountabilities include:
- Ensure assigned trades work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements
- Use effective interpersonal skills in working with others to build successful working relationships.
- Comply with legislative requirements, company policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Support the electrical Coordinator to manage and run the electrical/instrumentation & refrigeration maintenance team.
- Undertake the role/duties of the Electrical Coordinator when they are absent or undertaking other duties.
- Perform all maintenance activities as directed by the EIC Coordinator, EIC Superintendent.
- Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production.
- Perform all routine preventative maintenance and trade related tasks as per the daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules as required.
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
- Initiate and complete Work Orders and ensure timely sign off / close off for completed work along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required.
- Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders.
- Manage the day-to-day work schedule allocation for your team.
- Ensure work status information is communicated to relevant parties, provide updates & feedback.
- Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
- Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
- Monitor levels of electrical consumables and order as required.
- Provide leadership & supervision to E&I tradespeople
- Contribute to continuous improvement of department systems (SWI’s, Maintenance Strategies & PM Tasks)
Ideally, applicants will possess the following technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications:
Technical
- CMMS experience such as Pronto.
- High Voltage Isolation & Access, write & review HV Switching sheets as per authorisation
- Electrical Trade Qualified (Licenced)
- Skilled in Fault Finding
People
- Team player with the ability to maintain internal and external relationships.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal at various levels (Technical, Operational)
- A healthy customer focus
- Hold S123 qualification
Knowledge:
- Basic computing skills
- Knowledgeable on Electrical Standards
Experience:
- 2 years Industry experience
- 5 Years post trade experience, Electrical – experience in heavy industry, PLC’s and motors.
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:
- Electrical trade certificate
- Manual Driver’s Licence
- High Voltage switching certificate
