Leading Hand Fitter

Established in 1993, PYBAR, A Metarock Company, has grown to become one of Australia's largest underground hard rock mining contractors operating in multiple states of Australia with a track record in securing repeat business. 

Due to operational growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Leading Hand Workshop Fitter to join the team at our head office/yard in Orange! Being a full-time, permanent position, this opportunity is a residential position and ready for an immediate start.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Leading Hand Fitter to join our team in the Head Office and yard in Orange, NSW. Working autonomously as well as part of a team and ensuring a high quality of work, you will gain and expand your experience and knowledge of mining and stores.

This position will see you working a 5/2 roster in a full-time position, this position will be residential to Orange only.

In order to be considered for this position you will need to be able to demonstrate current or previous underground mining.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Trade Qualifications (Essential) – Diesel Fitter
• Previous Leading Hand experience or proven leadership experience
• Previous mining or UG mining experience
• Experience with CAT, Sandvik and Volvo equipment will be an advantage
• Maintenance and service experience
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• A positive can-do attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
• A strong focus on safety
• Hold a current Australian Drivers License
• Hold or be willing to obtain a current National Police Clearance.
