We are currently seeking a Lean Practitioner to join our advanced manufacturing site located in Port Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. This position will be based onsite, 5 days per week.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Boeing Production System & Training Centre, as a key member of the Operational Excellence with a primary responsibility to lead and support the implementation of Lean principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity enhancement, ultimately contributing to the organization's overall operational excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the organization's Lean strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes and workflows to identify areas of inefficiency, waste, and variability.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive cultural change by promoting a Lean mindset and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees at all levels to build awareness and buy-in for Lean principles and practices.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and monitoring of Lean projects.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance metrics related to Lean initiatives.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for further improvement. Communicate results and findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement and always be on the lookout for opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and optimize performance.
  • Encourage a culture of Lean thinking by sharing success stories, teaching, celebrating achievements, and empowering employees to contribute ideas for improvement.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in leading Lean initiatives and driving process improvements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and a passion for driving change and continuous improvement.
  • Applicants must have full-time unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Additional Information:

This is a Non EBA position IJC DACJI4. Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
