In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering The Digital Systems Program - a transformational change program implementing European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 within NSW. This project will have a broad impact across impact Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink.
You will research, write, and design engaging, high quality, highly contextualised and compelling course content and artefacts that meet the required needs of our clients. These will be aimed at variety of audiences with a broad range of learning levels.
You will produce training and assessment courseware that will primarily be focused on technical content for Train Crew, Engineers and Maintainers, and Rail Operations experts, but will also support education on new business processes and assist our people through the journey of change.
You will develop courseware for facilitated classroom-based training, self-paced eLearning, and solutions leveraging technology such as training simulators and virtual reality.
Develop robust competency assessments for safety-critical training.
You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts, with other key stakeholders and occasionally with suppliers to identify learning outcomes and develop content to meet these outcomes.
You will create supporting learning material such as audio, video, simulations, work instructions, quick reference guides, role plays, games, etc. that align to client objectives.

About you
You are a qualified Learning Design Specialist or Instructional Designer looking for an opportunity to make a difference in Transport.
You will have at least 2 years Instructional Design experience with a strong focus on researching, writing, and sequencing technical learning content and assessments to meet learning outcomes. Ideally, you also have a strong grasp of the use of E-learning authoring tools and demonstrated experience designing online and face to face contextualised learning programs.
You will have sound knowledge and understanding of the Standards for RTOs 2015 and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (or its successor or equivalent) and/or other relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience.
You will have proficiency in the use of corporate computing systems and applications in creating documents, training artefacts, materials, editing and publishing.
Previous experience in writing training and assessment materials for a heavily regulated industry, as well as engaging with unions and peak bodies, is desirable.
