Job description

We are excited to offer:

  • Full time position Monday to Friday (predominately daylight hours with occasional evenings to deliver tours)
  • Salary range (scale 5 to 6) $63,000 (probationary rate) to $82,000 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Hybrid working conditions - office, attraction, remote and field based. 
  • Stunning Coastal work location, with one of Australia's leading conservation and ecotourism organisations

The Role 

As the Learning and Experience Officer, you will be responsible for development and delivery of educational interpretive material, school curriculum programs, incursions, public and private tours, and other Learning Experiences that showcase Nature Parks' conservation achievements, are aligned with the Tourism business Plan, with the aim of inspiring visitors to act to protect nature for wildlife.

This role will support the organisation in the delivery and contribute to a range of tourism projects in conjunction with the Project and Interpretations Officer.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in developing and delivering of high-quality environmental interpretation and educational activities for a variety of audiences.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and ability to apply to both development and delivery of programs.
  • Strong analytical and IT skills with exceptional written and communication skills combined with the ability to apply these effectively in stakeholder engagement at various levels.
  • Strong team player and collaborator with the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate flexibility and reliability in changing environments.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, and ability to priorities tasks and deliver deadlines.
  • Knowledge of modern techniques, resources, and technologies for innovative interpretation. Experience in visitor data collection, evaluation, and preparation of reports.
  • Understanding of eco-accredited principles and best practice aligned with our purpose to conserve our wildlife and environment.

To commence your journey with us, the following is required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education
  • Working with Childrens Check or VIT Registration
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Driver's License (ability to drive a manual vehicle)
