Role Description/Criteria

St Bernadette's School is seeking an experienced, motivated and dedicated teacher and leader to join our school community as the Learning Leader - Student Wellbeing. There is also the possibility of this role incorporating Family Engagement. Position of Leadership - Level 2 and is for the 2024-2025 school year. It has an FTE of 0.6 which is negotiable. The successful applicant would start the beginning of Term 3, 2024 or soon after.

The role of the Learning Leader - Student Wellbeing/Family Engagement is to support the Principal in leading the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the wellbeing and education of all learners in the school community. The role will also include a percentage of time working in classrooms.

Applicants are required to have:

  • a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and to Catholic Education
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School (desired)
  • qualifications in Student Wellbeing (desired)
  • recent success and experience in a leadership position
  • current VIT registration, inclusive of a Criminal Record check
  • a strong commitment to Child Safe Standards and the wellbeing of students and a commitment to the emotional and educational wellbeing of students.

The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to meet the following selection criteria:

  • a strong commitment to our Catholic values and ethos.
  • expertise in contemporary wellbeing for learning approaches, practices and assessment
  • possess an understanding of the Berry Street Education Model and Rights, Responsibilities and Respectful Relationships.
  • an ability to lead, collaborate and actively contribute to a team focused environment.
  • an ability to build the capacity of teachers' wellbeing knowledge and practice, through modelling, mentoring and being available to work within the learning spaces with educators and children
  • an ability to interpret and analyse data so as to lead strategically, plan effectively and respond to the needs of all learners.
  • display a willingness to be open and responsive to new learning.
  • have a passion for building and promoting strong partnerships between families and school.
