About the opportunity
Opportunity for a Lecturer in Data Science to join The School of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Sydney, one of the largest mathematical sciences schools in Australia. As a Lecturer in Data Science, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation while continuing to build your research contribution, expertise and impact. You will also benefit from our supportive community of world-class mathematicians and statisticians.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to in the development, implementation, and promotion of mathematical/statistical education programs at the School of Mathematics and Statistics
- work and collaborate on teaching programs and research with Academic and Professional staff at the University of Sydney
- make a significant contribution to the research, education and administrative endeavours of their school/faculty while building their reputation as an authoritative figure in the discipline.
About you

- a PhD or a doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- an outstanding track record of publishing their research in areas of data science, optimization, or applied mathematics
- evidence of ability, versatility and commitment to teaching
- experience supervising students
- a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
