- Full-time, fixed term contract until 13 August 2023
- Commencement Salary: $93,165 (Level A)/$104,838 (Level B) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About the Role
This position is responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship and professional activities of the Academic Unit. The focus of this position will primarily be on coordination and teaching in the Occupational Therapy discipline, however, due to an increased focus on multidisciplinary teaching, the position may be required to work with multidisciplinary student groups. The Lecturer in Occupational Therapy utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in their teaching practice and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

The UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.
Core Responsibilities
LEVEL A
- Contribute to the development and delivery of courses (as appropriate) and work with the team in the development of program change and innovation
- Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods
- Contribute to program planning and evaluation
- Undertake developmental activities to advance knowledge of effective discipline-specific pedagogical practices
- Actively contribute to Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in relation to planning and administration
LEVEL B
- Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods
- Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and partner organisations to ensure that courses contain quality content which represents contemporary practice and theory
- Undertake developmental activities to advance knowledge of effective discipline-specific pedagogical practices
- Create, foster and enhance national and international links with relevant industry, business, university and community bodies that assist the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives
- Undertake course coordination duties (as required)
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy a relevant discipline, together with relevant clinical experience and eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of South Australia
- Clinical practice experience and leadership as an Occupational Therapist
- Demonstrated ability to provide teaching and supervision of Occupational Therapy students
- High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- High level administrative and organisational skills and a commitment to continual professional and personal development
