About the Role 
We have an opportunity for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience to join Swinburne University.

The Senior Lecturer, Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, will be responsible for teaching, research, course management and curriculum development in the area of Cognitive Neuroscience. The incumbent’s research activity should combine Cognitive Neuroscience with one or more compatible disciplines to help foster Swinburne’s vision to bring people and technology together to build a better world. 
This role assumes administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and contributes to other relevant professional activities in the department. The Senior Lecturer is expected to mentor and support students on academic matters and supervise undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research students. The incumbent is expected to participate in activities for the development of closer and stronger links with industry in Australia and internationally.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Contribute to teaching, including preparing and delivering Cognitive Neuroscience focused lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, research supervision, and marking and assessments.
  • Assist in the development of innovative teaching and learning methods to enhance our teaching of Cognitive Neuroscience, including online and other modern pedagogies in teaching and learning, and ensure programs meet APAC accreditation standards.
  • Take responsibility for leadership in key teaching and learning project initiatives as directed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance, expansion and enrichment of our Cognitive Neuroscience offerings to students. 
  • Integrate contemporary Cognitive Neuroscience industry-based knowledges and tools in teaching and learning outcomes for students.
  • Make original and innovative contributions to scholarship and research outputs of the department and school in the area of Cognitive Neuroscience
  • Develop new research projects that bridge Cognitive Neuroscience methods with other research disciplines in psychology (e.g., developmental, social, clinical) or related areas that align with Swinburne’s vision and research priorities.

Qualifications

  • A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in psychology or related discipline.
  • Proven research experience utilising various Cognitive Neuroscience methodologies, including but not limited to MRI, MEG, and EEG.
