Job Description

Griffith University is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education to join our School of Medicine and Dentistry. This role involves significant contributions to curriculum development, course delivery, and assessment in Phases 1 and 2 of the Doctor of Medicine program, with a focus on teaching, learning and assessment of foundational medical sciences, clinical skills and communication skills.

The successful candidate will support the School’s educational mission by implementing high-quality learning and assessment activities in the Doctor of Medicine program. They will also contribute to the broader mission of the School through scholarly and service activities, as negotiated with their Academic Supervisor.

In addition, a successful candidate appointed as Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education is also expected to play a significant leadership role in Clinical teaching and assessment across the three phases of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, as well as provide academic leadership to foster teaching innovations and excellence in scholarship, service and/or professional activities.

Depending on the educational qualifications and professional background of the successful candidate, the successful candidate may be appointed at either Lecturer Level B or Senior Lecturer Level C.

This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute adjacent to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary will be Academic Lecturer (Level B) range $108,298 - $128,608 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $126,708- $150,471 per annum.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be Academic Senior Lecturer (Level C) range $132,666 - $152,975 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $155,219 - $178,981 per annum.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a medical degree from a recognised educational institution.
  • Possess a doctoral or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and / or professional fellowship.
  • For Senior Lecturer, demonstrated expertise and experience in leading and managing courses / modules and assessment within an MD curriculum.
