CLK LEGAL is a personal injury firm located on Wright Street, Adelaide. We are a litigation firm managed by a Principal of 25 years experience, looking for a full time Legal Assistant (Legal Secretary) to join a busy and growing legal practice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Legal Assistant (Legal Secretary):
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Opening and closing files including operating Leap Cloud legal software including time costing and precedent management;
• Answering, monitoring and managing incoming calls;
• Managing incoming and outgoing mail;
• Communicating and corresponding with clients;
• Managing the meeting rooms;
• Managing the Principal’s calendar including managing appointments, court dates and limitation dates;
• Diary and email management;
• File management including filing;
• Scanning and photocopying;
• Dictation typing, drafting letters and drafting documents including court documents, letters and internal documents;
• Managing stationery orders and other office duties;
• Managing incoming and outgoing invoices and payments;
• Preparation for trials and settlement conferences;
• Drafting and constructing Briefs for Barristers and communicating with Barristers' Chambers;
• Drafting schedules of special damages and disbursements;
• Taking instructions from the Principal, solicitors and assisting other support staff;
• Working in a team environment;
• Other duties as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Typing speed above 60wpm;
• Previous experience, preferably in a legal practice;
• The ability to work autonomously and part of a team;
• To demonstrate leadership qualities in a growing team environment;
• High attention to detail, organisational skills and time management;
• Upfront and honest communication style;
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple tasks and requests;
• Friendly and outgoing with good client focus and telephone manner;
• Good work ethic and reliability;
• Previous experience with Leap Cloud software is preferred but not essential;
• Experience with Microsoft office including emails and Word;
• Strong focus on confidentiality.
(Salary will be commensurate with experience).
