Legal Assistant (Part-Time)

Fuller and White Solicitors are a boutique law firm, based in both Brisbane City and Cleveland, specialising in Criminal, Traffic, Child Protection and Domestic Violence Law.

The Role:

Fuller and White Solicitors are seeking a part-time Legal Assistant to join our team at the Brisbane office.  We are seeking a candidate who is able to work part-time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to gain extensive experience in a legal administration role, in a successful and fast-paced law firm. 

The role would include:

• assisting the Solicitors with day to day management of files;
• communication with clients by telephone and in person; 
• diary management;
• opening, maintaining and closing files;
• liaising with clients, counsel, prosecution offices/opposing parties, Legal Aid Queensland and courts;
• drafting correspondence; 
• processing Legal Aid applications (experience is favoured, but not required);
• receiving incoming mail and sending outgoing mail;
• responding to enquiries;
• maintaining office stationery and supplies; and
• other general administration duties.

The successful applicant may also be called upon to attend court for simple mentions, or to instruct a Barrister.

Our firm is keen to offer extensive training to the successful applicant in respect of all responsibilities and duties in the role, but experience in a previous administrative role will be highly favoured. 

Your Skills and Experience

The role would suit a candidate with strong verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a keen interest in the legal field – however, the applicant need not be studying a law degree.

We are looking for applicants that can remain with our firm long-term.
