Our client is a worldwide well-known and highly respected brand in the electronics industry. With expansion to their business, there is an opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join the Sydney team. About the role: Reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance, you will be exposed to a broad and varied range of commercial work. Essentially, your role will be to assist the Head of Legal and Compliance and other senior Legal Counsel with all general legal and compliance matters affecting the business on a day to day basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing advice to the business on a broad range of legal matters including: general corporate and commercial advice, employment law, insolvency and securities law, competition and consumer laws, marketing collateral review, property matters, intellectual property, privacy and general litigation matters;
- Liaising with the Company’s external legal consultant(s) and law firm(s);
- Assisting with the day to day operation of the business’ compliance program, including the preparation of general compliance materials, training materials and the conduct of training for staff; andperforming general legal research tasks as required
- Undergraduate / postgraduate law degree
- Admission as a legal practitioner in Australia
- Knowledge of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 essential.
