RAC are looking for people who are committed to building a safer, sustainable and connected future for West Australians. Collaborating across all areas of the RAC, you will be tasked with providing advice on a range of diverse matters, including privacy and data protection, intellectual property, commercial and consumer law, and contract reviews. This is a hands-on role, engaging with numerous stakeholders across the organisation. You will also be involved in the organisation’s corporate governance matters, including its annual general meeting and Council election process.
What would a typical day look like?
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts
- Conducting legal research and providing sound advice to a range of stakeholders
- Supporting regulatory and compliance matters, including in the areas of privacy, data protection, member disputes, contract interpretation and other legislative requirements applicable to RAC
- Reviewing and advising on leases
- Advising on legal risks in contracts and projects
- Preparing customer-facing terms and conditions for RAC products and services
- Supporting and assisting RAC business units with legal matters relating to contract management
- Assisting with training and develop staff on relevant legal issues including aspects of contract management
- Monitoring changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment
- Primarily commercial and contractual experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) is mandatory
- Current Western Australian Practising Certificate is mandatory
- Proactive, practical and business minded approach
- Demonstrated work experience in top tier or in-house Legal Counsel team
- Experience in preparing and negotiating various commercial contracts.
