This is a great opportunity for a results-driven, entrepreneurial 4 yr PQE lawyer to work in a dynamic, high-growth business environment. This role will give you great exposure across the whole business, centralised in Australia and
New Zealand, but with business interests (and team members) across the UK, Europe, US and SE Asia. You have the opportunity to be directly adding value to the business every day and will also be responsible for building and managing data risk management practices appropriate for a rapidly scaling tech business.
Your Responsibilities:
As the second member of legal team, you will have both autonomy and support (where it is needed) in relation to all legal matters including:
Driving data security and privacy outcomes in partnership with our VP Product & Engineering Driving commercial contracts negotiations with enterprise clients, supporting, advising and being a partner and enabler for our sales team Advising the Sales Directors on corporate and commercial matters Assisting the General Counsel with corporate transactions (eg. capital raising, M&A) Assisting with Company Secretary duties, investor relations and corporate administration Supporting corporate compliance through relevant staff training What you will need to be successful: Strong ability to work autonomously as the second in-house lawyer in our fast-growing company, with good commercial judgment to progress deals and when to leverage external advisors Exceptional oral and written communication skills - you are a clear, direct communicator Ability to deal well with ambiguity and you are practical and action-oriented Strong collaboration, interpersonal, stakeholder management and negotiation skills - internally and externally Strong technical legal knowledge and skills - you know and keep up to date with the current law in your areas of practice Highly motivated to succeed with strong personal and professional drive Confidence to advise, make decisions and push things forward to results Good commercial judgment and the willingness to learn Humble, practical, can-do attitude Committed Team player - You get energy from being surrounded by an amazing group of people. Pragmatic approach to risk management. Ideal experience: Law degree and current practising certificate 4 years post qualification experience, including commercial and/or tech law.
