- Provide expert and commercial legal advice in a timely and professional manner to all aspects of the Marsh & Mercer Australia businesses
- Work on contracts with our clients, suppliers and the insurance market generally
- Work on industry specific materials such a binding authority, opinion letter, attestation, Authorised Representative agreement, or distributor agreement.
- Analysis of and advice on new and/or changing laws and regulations
- Identify liability exposure and provide solutions to manage and reduce risk to Marsh & Mercer
- Effective management of outside counsel and review of outside counsel work product.
- Provide supervision and development to junior team members
- Liaison between the legal team and rest of the corporate group
- Assisting in producing reports, manuals, and presentations
- Other tasks as directed by the manager, Chief Commercial Counsel, Pacific
- Pro-active and highly organised
- Thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work autonomously and accurately to meet multiple deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of writing and communication skills
- Ability to draft and edit concisely
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
