About the role
The BOC Legal Team is based in our Head Office in North Ryde, NSW. The location of this role is flexible for the right candidate, with a mix of in person in the office and working from home. Reporting to the Head of Legal South Pacific, you will provide legal support across BOC South Pacific Business Units and identify legal risk in connection with BOC ‘s business activities and advise and assist the business to avoid or mitigate such risk.
Other responsibilities in this role include:
- Provide hands-on legal advice in all relevant business areas, with a particular focus on procurement and customer sales and service agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, deeds, NDAs, and other legal documents and correspondence.
- Assess, advise on and assist the business to manage legal risks.
- Partner with and coach key stakeholders on legal matters.
- Implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and training.
What we like about you:
- Full qualification as a lawyer or solicitor with at least 2 years of professional experience post-admission.
- Experience in commercial contracts (both sales and procurement).
- Knowledge of competition and consumer law is desirable.
- Proven expertise in advising stakeholders on commercial contracts and legal risks.
- A pragmatic approach with the ability to take ownership and provide strong judgement.
- Ability to apply a legal framework to emerging legislative and regulatory changes.
- Strong awareness of legal risks and commercial drivers with demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear, concise, and practical manner.
- The ability to provide legal advice in a manner capable of forming a basis for ultimate commercial decision making.
