Legal & Regulatory Summer Intern
Job Summary
Telstra Incorporated is looking for a Summer Intern to join our in-house Legal and Regulatory team, providing support for Telstra’s Americas business. We are excited to welcome a law student to assist with varied legal, regulatory and privacy issues and to help us uplift our educational resources and knowledge management. We are looking for someone curious and a quick learner with an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit. The intern will work closely with our lean NY-based team: Senior Privacy and Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Paralegal, Legal Counsel, and US General Counsel.Job Description- Building an internal SharePoint to share legal and regulatory resources with business clients.
- Digesting and summarizing new laws and regulations (FCC, state privacy regulators, and/or Canadian regulators), as well as other relevant legal news articles, into plain language summaries.
- Editing standard agreement forms to reflect recent changes in law.
- Assisting with drafting and distributing contract addendums to customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge management – Consolidating and organizing existing advice and resources for our international team.
- Organizing and tracking regulatory notices and assisting with the drafting of responses to supplier or customer questions in response to these notices.
- Database optimization – Streamlining our customer contract databases.
- Reviewing customer or supplier paper contracts against Telstra templates and standard terms.
- Assisting with projects delivered out of our Asia and EMEA regions, such as researching and summarizing telecommunications regulations that apply to Telstra in these regions and assisting with GDPR and Asia privacy compliance programs.
Salary Range:
$25/hour + $100/month mass transit commuter subsidy.
