 Opportunities exist for Legal Assistants to join our Legal Support team in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

About the role

We are seeking candidates who are looking to expand their working career, have an interest in legal administration, and are enthusiastic and willing to learn. On-the-job training will be provided along with ongoing training and development. Fundamentally, a strong work ethic and a desire to work in a team and provide professional administrative service to lawyers is key. 

In this role you will: 

  • take an active role in assisting our lawyers to deliver a high standard of legal services to our clients 
  • assist with the preparation of court and tribunal documents and other correspondence 
  • maintain legal files and assist with client enquiries
  • manage lawyers’ diaries and travel
  • ensure administrative procedures such as client billing and reporting comply with relevant AGS requirements.

About you

This role will suit experienced Legal Assistants who will ideally have: 

  • at least 2 years’ legal assistant experience
  • a genuine commitment to client service
  • good judgement and the ability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
  • well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • experience in the preparation of legal documents including templates to a high professional standard
  • excellent word processing skills with an average of 80+ words per minute and a high level of accuracy
  • experience preparing and reviewing invoices and entering time into billing systems in a legal firm 
  • an interest in undertaking training and development to learn new skills.
