About Legal Aid Queensland

Are you an experienced legal administrator or currently studying law and seeking to gain real world experience? In this diverse and challenging role you will help lawyers with all administrative activities associated with a case file.

Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ) is committed to becoming an employer of choice for First Nations peoples. Please note that this position works with all clients, not predominately or exclusively with First Nations clients.

This position is temporary until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension.

What you will do

  • Managing administrative activities associated with a case file
  • Assist with preparing for matters
  • Act as first point of contact and manage all incoming calls
  • Help lawyers prioritise daily tasks and maintain appointments and calendars

About you: The successful candidate will have

  • Demonstrated legal administration experience and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to type with accuracy and speed and use information technology including the Microsoft suite
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
