Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator

Westgate Aged Care is a fully accredited 90 bed High Care Facility established for over 30 years.

We promote a positive attitude to caring for our Residents and offer the highest standard of care, while recognising the rights and dignity of our Residents to achieve the best possible outcome for Residents and Staff.

As the Lifestyle Coordinator, your role will include:

• Planning, implementation, and evaluation of both individual and group lifestyle programs that encourage and support resident independence, creativity, and dignity. 
• Designing and implementing a high-quality calendar of meaningful activities and events.
• To provide appropriate and timely documentation that meets regulatory requirements. 
• Facilitate community engagement opportunities and coordinate Volunteers 
• Liaise with Residents and their families

This role will include but not be limited to the facilitation of the monthly activities calendar, leading group activities, organising bus outings, care plans for clients as well as therapy assistance to improve their quality of everyday life.

As a focused, highly organised, and self-motivated Lifestyle Coordinator, you will be required to plan, develop, and deliver an innovative activities program for our residents. As a person who can build and maintain relationships, you will be required to oversee and motivate our Lifestyle Assistants and Volunteers as well as work closely with Therapy, and Care Staff.

The successful candidate will have leadership skills, bring energy and enthusiasm into this role, will be service oriented, possess exceptional people skills and be passionate about providing quality aged care programs for our residents.

 Key Requirements

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (Certificate III with experience will also be considered).
• Demonstrated understanding of Leisure and Lifestyle programming and Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Experience in an aged care facility, developing Leisure programs including working with dementia clients.
• Interest, Passion, and Affinity for Aged Care
• Current Victorian Police Check
• Proof of COVID Vaccination and Flu Vac
• Permanent Resident of Australia
• Demonstrable experience in leadership, delegating and working as part of a Team environment.
• Excellent written & verbal communication 
• Experience and understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation Process.
